Stephanie Becker, an award-winning wildlife and nature photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a sixth-generation Californian and certified naturalist. Her early advocacy for wildlife, including successfully campaigning for deer-crossing signs in her hometown, sparked her passion for raising awareness about coexistence with nature. Through her work, she aims to inspire young readers to embrace empathy, friendship, and environmental stewardship, fostering a deeper connection with the natural world.

Kate Risse teaches Spanish language and culture at Tufts University. She has published articles on the history and culture of Spain and Latin America. She lives in Brookline, Massachusetts, with her family and spends time on Dog Island and in the mountains of Vermont. Inland is her debut novel.

Suzi Linden is a lifelong artist who translates her joy of nature into her work. She is the author-illustrator of three Princess Bigfoot books—Princess Bigfoot in AlaskaPrincess Bigfoot Gives Thanks, and Princess Bigfoot in Maine. Angelique Smelt is an Australian visual artist and illustrator who draws on the beauty and magic of animals and nature to create her artwork, which she expresses in pen, watercolor, and acrylic. In her home state of Adelaide, southern Australia, she is well known for her colorful, often whimsical representations of the natural world. In her first collaboration as an illustrator for a young adult’s book, Angelique has used her unique talents to explore the fantastical world of children’s fiction visually and, in the process, has discovered a new passion and dimension within her art.

Rachel is an award-winning audiobook narrator living in New York. Her accolades include multiple Audie nominations and
two Voice Arts Awards, Gold Medal IPPY and Benjamin Franklin IBPA awards for narration.

A well-known voice actor, Rachel has represented hundreds of brands, including Lexus and Coca-Cola. She is the host/creator of the podcast “From Foster to Forever” and the creator of
the art-rock band Fantasizer. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband, two children and their dog Maynard.

He and his family live on a tiny farm near Bangor, Maine, where he gardens, makes stuff, raises chickens, and gets into trouble. Melody Horrill, an award-winning Australian journalist, author, and documentary producer, specializes in environmental issues. She co-chairs the Jane Goodall Institute’s global Cetacean Committee and is an ambassador for Kangaroo Island’s Dolphin Watch. Her memoir, A Dolphin Called Jock, explores her healing connection with a wild dolphin, while her book, Sheltered, shares stories of rescue animals and their human saviors.

Ellen Dee Davidson

Ellen Dee Davidson is an author of children’s books, including Princess Justina Albertina and Zoe, the Misfit, which has been used in bullying prevention programs. Her book Stolen Voices was translated into multiple languages and honored by the American Library Association. Ellen is inspired by nature, especially the redwood forests near her home in northern California. She also teaches and guides forest bathing experiences. Her upcoming adult book, Forest Bathing in Ancient Redwoods, is scheduled for 2025. She holds a degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Jennifer Comeau treasures walks in Maine’s special woodland places. A Certified Forest Therapy Guide, singer-songwriter, and author-speaker, Jen’s experiences among “the standing ones” are awe-inspiring and grounding. Her forthcoming debut novel, A Moon in All Things, is a heroine’s journey to reclaim the old ways of nature. She is the founder of the nonprofit animal rights group ARC and the director of Sweet Peeps Microsanctuary, a small sanctuary devoted to chickens rescued from animal agriculture. In her work, she tackles critical issues relating to animal welfare and the ways in which human beings relate to and impact the natural world.

Andrea Thalasinos is the author of An Echo through the Snow, Traveling Light, and Fly by Night.  Born and raised in New York, she lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with her two Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.  Her fiction blends mystery, history, and psychological depth by exploring the animal/human connection and how this most ancient of relationships is often the conduit to a greater understanding and connection.
